 Yes, you can. JD Mini Storage always recommends using the same-sized boxes for your items. Using boxes of the same size makes it much easier to move and stack things. It also reduces damage from larger boxes caving in smaller ones beneath them. That being said, smaller boxes are better for books. Smaller boxes save space and allow you to store more of them in your storage unit. Your boxes will accumulate a layer of dust while stored, and our units are not climate-controlled. Please take dust and the environment into consideration when packing and planning the amount of time you will need for your storage unit.

Where Do You Store My Belongings?

We store students’ belongings inside our spacious storage units at our secure storage facility. The sizes of our storage units range from 4’x5′ to 10’x30′ and they generally have 10-foot ceilings for maximum storage capacity. All storage units are at ground level, so accessing them, even with a large truck, is easy. Our storage facility is also fenced-in with an automatic gate and keypad. We give students unique codes that will allow them access to their self-storage units every day. Managers are on-site six days a week during business hours to assist, answer questions, and work out pricing details that best suit you.

How Do You Transport My Belongings?

Students and their families are responsible for the transportation of their belongings to our storage facility. Upon arrival, JD Mini Storage will provide access codes to the storage unit and arrange all paperwork for payment plans. All storage units are at ground level for easy access and open 365 days a year. We recommend moving in and out of the facility between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., as the managers and staff are there to assist you during that time. Please remember that none of the units at JD Mini Storage are climate-controlled. Be aware that heat and weather affect delicate items if stored for more extended periods.

JD Mini Storage knows students have a lot of stuff. They came with it when they moved into the school. They made purchases and furnished their dorms with it during the year. Now, it is time to move it. That is where we can help. Students can store a variety of items at our facilities in Capitola, CA. What Is Your Minimum/Maximum Student Storage Period?

JD Mini Storage has seen it before. That is why we do not require a minimum stay for students at our facility. There is a minimum charge of one month. However, after one month, any pre-paid rent is prorated. It is also refunded with a 10-day notice of the move-out date.
